Equipment I Use

After experimenting with lots of gear over the years I am currently
of the opinion that less is more.  I own and have designed and built
many effects devices for the guitar, but on the STRAD TO STRAT CD,
I just use the same equipment I currently use during live performances:

	- 1974 Strat.  Only modification:  pickups are Lace Sensors.
	- Fender Stage 112SE amp (mic'ed to appropriate PA to fill hall)
        - Nady Wireless One system so I can get around easily.

In some dry halls I include a small amount of delay between the mic.
and the PA.  I generally take advantage of the acoustics of the hall
to get the same effect without electronics if possible:  even filtering
by facing speakers at back stage and side wall surfaces with absorbtion
spectral densities that complement that of the speakers'.  In small
halls I rarely face the speaker of the amp directly towards the audience
because high frequency components that can't be filtered with
electronics.  Most amps I've worked with have the same problem, in 
my opinion.
